If you are a coaster fan you MUST visit this one! Voted the 'Best Steel Roller Coaster in the World,' for the third year in a row in a poll conducted by Amusement Today, the Magnum is still one of the most popular rides ever built at the historic amusement park. When it opened in 1989, the Magnum XL-200 was the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the world and was the first scream machine to top the 200-foot-tall barrier.

Cedar Point is located on Lake Erie, about 60 miles west of Cleveland, OH. This park is also known as "America's Roller Coast," meaning there are record-breaking coasters and thrill rides, suitable for most people 48 inches and taller. If you are the thrill-seeking type, I personally recommend The Millennium. This roller coaster ascends to heights of over 300 feet and hits speeds of up to 90 mph. Another great ride for those 52 inches and taller is The Raptor. You are seated in a hanging train attached to an overhead track, with your legs dangling. After descending the first hill of 175 feet, you are turned upside-down, twisted from side to side, and looped completely head over heals! Take off your shoes (they provide storage) and enjoy your ride. I've been going to Cedar Point for over 20 years now. This amusement park just gets better each year. The staff is always friendly and it has great carnival food and nice air-conditioned sit-down restaurants. There are many shows for the whole family to enjoy. No one will be left out of this vacation. My family returns every year!

Thomas Edison Birthplace
According to records, the lot on which this house stands was bought in 1841 by Nancy Elliott Edison, mother of Thomas Alva Edison. Edison's parents sold the house in 1854, and the family moved to Port Huron, Michigan. In 1894, Edison's sister, Marion Edison Page, bought the house. Edison became the owner of his birthplace in 1906, and, on his last visit in 1923, he was shocked to find his old home still lighted by lamps and candles! After the death of Thomas A. Edison, opening his birthplace to the public as a memorial and museum became the private project of his wife, Mina Miller Edison, and their daughter, Mrs. John Eyre Sloane. The Edison Birthplace Museum opened on the centennial of the inventor's birth in 1947. Tour the birthplace of the world’s greatest inventor which has been restored and furnished as it was in 1847 with two of Edison’s great-great-grandnieces.
